"Be Grateful!"
Everybody seems to be saying this these days. People are being told by other people to be grateful about everything that you have in your life. Sure, it's a good habit. Makes you realize what you have in your life rather than what you don't. Being grateful is about shifting your focus to all the things that are right. Which is a good thing.
But are we all grateful for everything that we have? Or some of just want a little more in our lives? Does being content and grateful stop you from growing beyond your current state? Maybe by just a tiny bit?
I have heard people often say," If you don't have anything to be grateful about, be grateful for the fact that you are alive or that you are still breathing."
Here is my question to all of those people, are each and every one of you happy to be alive? Or maybe just some of you don't care for being alive. Now, not caring about your life is not necessarily a bad or a negative thing. I also don't mean that you will do stupid things to put yourself in any kind of danger. Maybe some of you haven't found the right things that drives you. This "right thing" when you achieve it, can you necessarily point at it and say,"This is what I have been waiting for my whole life!"
If you do have something that drives you, it's great, congratulations for having found it. Some of you don't. Which is fine! It really is. Maybe, you will discover it. Maybe you will invent it for yourself.
But if you don't ever, will it be wrong not to be grateful about being alive?
